Raela Awarded CPA Certificate of Academic Excellence

We are proud to announce that Raela Thiemann, a graduate student in our lab, has been awarded a Canadian Psychological Association (CPA) Certificate of Academic Excellence for her master’s thesis. This award, endorsed by the Council of Canadian Departments of Psychology, recognizes outstanding achievements at the master’s level by awarding the best theses each year.

Raela’s master’s thesis focused on how socioeconomic factors—such as income, education, and employment—mediate the relationship between Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and adult depression.

Raela is currently conducting doctoral research on ACEs and their impacts on child development, as well as factors that contribute to trauma treatment success for children by evaluating the Caregiver Online PsychoEducation (COPE) project.

Raela’s research is supervised by Dr. Sheri Madigan.

Congratulations, Raela, on this outstanding achievement!
