AMBIANCE-Brief (Atypical Maternal Behavior Instrument for Assessment and Classification-Brief) Training
This training provides comprehensive instruction in the AMBIANCE-brief, a validated observational tool designed to assess parental behaviors associated with infant disorganized attachment. The AMBIANCE-brief is widely used in both clinical and research settings to inform assessments of parent-infant relationships and guide treatment planning and intervention.
In this online training, participants will learn:
- Theoretical foundations and development of the AMBIANCE measure.
- The most salient behavioral indicators of disrupted caregiving.
- How to apply the five dimensions of disrupted parenting (affective communication errors, role confusion, negative-intrusive behavior, disorientation, and withdrawal).
- Coding and scoring of specific caregiver behaviors.
- Conducting and passing a reliability test to ensure coding fidelity.
- How to integrate the AMBIANCE-brief into case conceptualization and treatment planning.
