Alanna and Haneen are Going to Grad School

We’re thrilled to share that two of our incredible research assistants are heading off to graduate school this fall, an exciting milestone that reflects their hard work, talent, and commitment to advancing mental health research.

Alanna Kaser has been accepted into the School and Clinical Child Psychology, Masters of Education (M.Ed.) program at the University of Alberta. Her work in the lab demonstrated a strong aptitude for research design and data analysis, particularly in projects related to Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), trauma-informed care, and children and youth mental health. As she begins her graduate training, we are confident she will continue to bring intellectual curiosity and rigor to everything she does.

Haneen Salama has been accepted into the School and Applied Psychology, Masters of Science (MSc) program at the University of Calgary, where she will continue to explore the intersections of culture, trauma, and children’s mental health in school settings. During her time in the lab, Haneen contributed meaningfully to several child development projects and consistently brought thoughtfulness and insight to her work. Her research interests, including how cultural expectations shape mental health outcomes for youth, promise to make a strong impact in the field.

We are incredibly proud of both Alanna and Haneen, and we can’t wait to see where their graduate journeys take them next!
