We are proud to announce that lab member Jackson Hewitt has been awarded the Izaak Walton Killam Doctoral Scholarship, considered the University of Calgary’s pinnacle award. This recognition is a testament to Jackson’s scholarly promise and the strength of his research vision.

Jackson’s doctoral work, co-supervised by Dr. Sheri Madigan and Dr. Brae Anne McArthur, will continue to test bidirectional effects between maternal-child and paternal-child depression longitudinally across child development. Building on this work, he will investigate child evocative effects, and whether child depression predicts differences in the course of maternal depression across child development.
