We are proud to share that Raela Thiemann, a master’s student in our lab, has been awarded the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) Doctoral Fellowship. This award supports high-calibre doctoral research students to focus deeply on their work while contributing to Canada’s research landscape. This recognition is a testament to Raela’s scholarly promise and the strength of her research vision. Raela’s current work in the lab focuses on how socioeconomic factors—such as income, education, and employment—mediate the relationship between Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and adult depression.
For her doctoral work, Raela plans to identify factors that contribute to trauma treatment success for children by evaluating the Caregiver Online Psychoeducation (COPE) project. She hopes to contribute new insights on optimizing treatment outcomes and providing accessible, science-based interventions to vulnerable children and their families.
Congratulations, Raela, on this well-deserved recognition!
