Sarah Wins Mitacs Globalink Research Award

We are proud to share that Sarah Tayyab, undergraduate research student and volunteer in our lab, has been awarded the prestigious Mitacs Globalink Research Award for her research on the intergenerational transmission of child abuse. This award supports international research collaborations and represents an outstanding achievement in Sarah’s academic journey. Sarah’s work in the lab focuses on how caregivers’ histories of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) shape their approaches to parenting.

This award will support Sarah’s collaborative research under the supervision of Dr. Glenn Roisman at the University of Minnesota, in partnership with our lab Director, Dr. Sheri Madigan. This research explores how experiences of abuse can be passed down across generations, an area of critical importance for understanding and preventing cycles of trauma within families. Sarah will be travelling to Minnesota in September to start her project.

Congratulations, Sarah, on this well-deserved recognition!
