Raela Thiemann, MSc (PhD Student)

Raela (she/her) is a graduate student in the Clinical Psychology program at the University of Calgary. Broadly, her research interests include risk and protective factors for youth mental health, including adverse childhood experiences (ACEs). In her master’s thesis, she studied how socioeconomic status influences the pathway from ACEs to depression. Her current PhD research aims to examine efficacy and outcomes of digital health solutions and child trauma treatment. She is funded by the Alberta Children’s Hospital Research Institute, a University of Calgary Distinguished Doctoral Recruitment Scholarship, and a SSHRC Doctoral Scholarship.  Clinically, Raela is interested in working with children and adolescents in forensic and community mental health settings.
